Rules for applying "blind spot" stickers:

• Marking is necessary on both the motor vehicle and the trailer.
• All markings on the vehicle must be placed at a specified height from the ground, ranging from 0.9 to 1.5 meters.
• In the front part of the vehicle, they must be placed on both the left and right sides, at a distance not exceeding 1 meter from the front of the vehicle.
• For trailers, the placement of markings is measured one meter behind the coupling pin of the towed vehicle.
• The marking must be placed on the right side of the central axis at the rear of the vehicle.

As of January 1, 2021, in France, vehicles with a total authorized weight of 3.5 tons are required to mark so-called "blind spots" to ensure maximum visibility, especially for cyclists, pedestrians, and personal mobility device users. The marking must be visible from all sides and the rear of the vehicle.

This regulation also applies to vehicles registered abroad. An exception is made for agricultural and forestry vehicles, as well as vehicles intended for winter maintenance and service vehicles of the road and highway administration.

Failure to comply with this obligation may be sanctioned with a fine in the 4th category.
